DAINIUS PAVALKIS, professor Lithuanian university of health sciences. 1995-2005 was Director for surgery of the biggest in Lithuania University hospital – Kauno Klinikos, with responsibility of all clinical and administrative activities of all surgical specialties, intensive care and trauma. As professor of the university published more than 280 publications, during last 10 years 17 publications referred in ISI WOS database. Majority of publications concerns colorectal cancer, radio and chemotherapies, surgery and quality assurance measures.
2012-2015 was Minister for Education and Science of Lithuania, responsible for research activities as well. During Presidency of Lithuania over European Council finalized Horizon 2020, Erasmus plus and other future programs for EU development. Was responsible for Smart specialization strategy preparation in Lithuania.
Since 2015 – professor Lithuanian University of the Health sciences, Head Innovation and Development department, Kaunas Clinics, member Research Innovation Strategic Expert (RISE) High level advisory group to Commissioner Carlos Moedas, Member Scientific panel for health (SPH), advisor of Kaunas Mayor.
Together with RISE HL group prepared and published policy brief for EC “Europe’s future: open Innovation, Open Science, Open to the World” with suggestions for the further policy of EU in Science, Research and innovation. Member Scientific Panel for Health (SPH) at European Commission (till December 2020)
Since January 2018 was employed as Provost Kazakh National medical university in Almaty, from 2019 march till 2021 March was elected as Rector Astana medical university, NurSultan, Kazakhstan. Was elected as President Kazakh national medical council. Member of the National Bioethics committee.
From 2022 working as consultant professor of the Lithuanian university of Health sciences, mainly in projects proposal in Horizon and other EU funded programs.
