Prof. Tali Cukierman-Yaffe, Sheba Medical Center 

Prof. Tali Cukierman-Yaffe is the Head of the Endocrinology & Diabetes Service for Women and Pregnancy at Sheba Medical Center, and the Chief Physician at the Center for Successful Aging with Diabetes, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, and a Senior Visiting Scholar at McMaster University in Canada. Prof. Cukierman-Yaffe is the scientific lead at the International Group for Diabetes and Aging Studies (IGDS). Her areas of expertise include the challenges of healthy aging with diabetes, endocrinology and diabetes in fertility and pregnancy, epidemiology of diabetes, and type 1 diabetes. Prof. Cukierman-Yaffe holds an M.Sc. in Health Research & Methodology from McMaster University (2004–2006), an M.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1994–1997), and a B.Sc. from the same institution (1991–1994). She has undergone residencies and further training in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Clinical Epidemiology.

Her research focuses on the challenges of healthy aging with diabetes, particularly the links between diabetes, cognitive dysfunction, frailty, and sarcopenia. She has played key roles in several high-profile studies, including the ORIGIN trial, ACCORD-MIND study, and the REWIND trial, which explored the cognitive safety of Dulaglutide in diabetes patients. In recent years, her research has centered on developing technological solutions for improving care for older adults with diabetes, such as digital tools for assessing physical and cognitive function. Prof. Cukierman-Yaffe is widely recognized for her contributions to diabetes research and is actively involved in writing guidelines and advising on both local and international forums.
