Daniel Z. Bar, PhD (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4074-2802), is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Oral Biology, The Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel. He received his PhD in Genetics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2014, under the supervision of Prof. Yosef Gruenbaum. His doctoral dissertation focused on lifespan regulating pathways, metabolism and lamins., using nematodes as a model organism

Dr. Bar’s research interests span molecular biology, genetics, and aging. He completed his postdoctoral studies at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda MD, USA, where he developed new technologies for proximity labeling and protein-DNA interactions under the guidance of Dr. Francis Collins.

He has authored numerous high-impact publications in prestigious journals such as Nature Methods, PNAS, and Journal of Medical Genetics. His work includes the development of innovative methods in proximity labeling, and studies on the reversal of age-dependent nuclear morphology phenotypes. He has been awarded several grants for his research, including from the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) and the Israel Innovation Authority.

He is a regular speaker at international scientific conferences, and also serves as a reviewer for several prestigious journals.

His current research focuses on molecular aspects of aging in humans, as well as the pathogen hypothesis of Alzheimer’s disease.
